Will my health insurance cover therapy?
Many health insurances will cover therapy.  However, contact your insurance provider to verify coverage, determine if there's a co-pay or deductible, identify limitations to coverage, and the number of sessions allowed for therapy.

What can I expect during my first appointment?
During your first appointment, your therapist will ask questions about what brings you to therapy, as well as gather information about your background and personal history.  Additionally, your therapist will discuss the frequency of your appointments and address any concerns or questions you may have.

How can I maximize the benefits of therapy?
Therapy requires commitment and an investment to your personal growth.  Therapy is hard.  Likewise, making the change therapy requires can be even harder.  To help facilitate change, reflect on what you and your therapist discussed outside of the session, complete assigned homework, and be patient with yourself and the therapeutic process.  Lasting change takes time and consistency.
